February 9th, 2024, Josh’s grandfather, William Darrel Judkins, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his two daughters by his side. Known by his grandchildren as Papaw, he left a legacy of family, commitment, and love. Josh and Papaw spent a lot of time together before he moved to Slovakia. Whenever he visited Fort Wayne, one of his favorite things to do was visit his Papaw. They loved talking about history and genealogy. Papaw was a person who listened to Josh for hours and was always there for him.
Papaw loved his family well and sacrificed many things to take care of his children and love his grandchildren and great-grandbabies. He inspired Josh in his commitment to Josh’s Mamaw, his wife, who went to be with the Lord many years ago. His pure commitment to his wife has stuck with Josh and inspired him with the same love and commitment to Alica and love for little Beny and Junie. He will be missed!
The funeral brought our whole family together, and we were able to see some relatives whom we had not seen for years. There was time spent together and many laughs. Most related to Papaw, who was a funny, adventurous Mark Twain type of person.
