In March, Josh’s other grandfather, Robert Clay Howard, went to be with the Lord peacefully. After years of taking care of Josh’s grandmother, who passed away last year, his health started to go downhill, and it was clear he was ready to be with the Lord and with his precious wife. 
      Grandpa Howard was a man of courage who served in the Navy and as a public safety officer. He loved his family well and led and loved people through his calm, confident fatherly love. As Josh’s dad describes his father, “He was a real-life of the TV character Andy Griffith.” Josh has fond memories of his Grandfather and how much he cared for him. He remembers the smell of wood in his workshop and all the things he taught him.
      Grandpa Howard was a one-of-a-kind man who served his community and family in a selfless way. He was an example of Christ and an example of a real man in an era with few good men. Josh has a great deal of respect for him and hopes that some of Grandpa Howard’s characteristics will be true in how he leads his family as well.
