Another Fusion and Thanksgiving!

0

Well this last week we had our second Fusion! We had 26 students, who all seem excited and I believe will continue to come back again and again. I talked with four students after the rehearsal who want to begin playing in the band already! This is really neat that we already have young people wanting to get involved more. After the Fusion Rehearsal I left to go to the Czech Republic where we have are headquarters for Josiah Venture. The Americans from our organization meet there for Thanksgiving every year. It is really a fun time and feels truely like you are with family. We had a football game in the morning and then ate good American food that everyone brought. In the afternoon we would hang out, talk, and watch football games. The picture on the right is from our thanks time. This is a time where we sing hymns and thank God for all that He has done in our lives and in the ministry. This something that I believe is very special and something many of us leave out on Thanksgiving. Finally we finish off the day with a talent show with all the missionary children with JV. This lasts about two hours and is a whole lot of fun the, children our so cute and many of them are so talented! I really feel blessed to have a family like this over here!

After Thanksgiving I returned to Banska Bystrica and spent Friday with the Poloha’s (the slovak family I work with). Typically after Thanksgiving my family sets up Christmas. Since I do not have my family here I invited my Slovak family over to decorate, drink hot chocolate, and watch Charlie Brown. This was a lot of fun to share with them how I celebrate the holidays as an American. In a couple of weeks I will also experience the Slovak way. Thank God for my adopted family here!

Thanks be to God for his inexpressable gift!!
