Wow! That is all I can say about the first Fusion Camp! It was really amazing to see what was accomplished through the week and all the relationships that were built! One neat thing about this camp was how international it was, we had 7 countries represented at the camp: England, USA, Slovakia, Czech, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Through out the week we prepared for the concert at the end of the week. We were working on 9 songs for the concert. It was truly amazing to see so many students who had no skills in music learning things for the first time and then playing in the concert! It was amazing to see their faces when they had done a good job. We also had 4 students come to Christ, which was really amazing seeing that only 8 students from camp were not believers! I would like to tell four stories.
Lenka and Silvia are in the bottom right picture. Lenka has been coming to Fusion for a while and her friend Silvia was at Exit tour, but came to Fusion for the first time this week. Both of these girls are very sweet genuine girls, but did not know the Lord. On the gospel night we had a thing called the labyrinth that led the students through stations reflecting on the week and their lives. At the end they could talk to a leader about Christ. As I was sitting by the fire, keeping it going. I saw these two girls talking to Zuzka, Draho’s wife. After a little bit they began to hug and cry. Two other girls who are believers joined with them and they came to the fire. As they were standing by the fire hugging and crying one of the Christian girls looked to me and said, “We have a new sister, she has new Life!” It was so awesome to see this change in these two girls! It really makes all the work through the year worth it! Please pray for these girls and their growth!
Jano on the bottom left is a guy I have shared about before. He has been in Fusion for two months now and has shown a real interest in God. He is even praying and asking if he can come to church with us. This week he was my room mate. It was fun to get to know him better and I truly hope that God will finally call him to His side. He is also best friends with Domča, who’s Father just died. We hope that he can really be a friend in this time, he is already praying for her!
Then there is Ben in the top left picture. I have spoken often about him. He is one of our jr. leaders. This week, it was really neat to see how he led and loved others. I am thankful that he is in my life and that I have the opportunity to build into his life and ministry.
Per (top right) is the pastor of the Norwegian team. He is one of the neatest people I have ever met. We hit it off from the first day and really began to grow in our friendship. I really appreciated his genuineness and heart for people. I know that the students really loved him. He has been pivotal in turning the heart of a town in Norway to God. It is really amazing the way God is using him to reach his community and to love others. We asked him to share the gospel during the week, and he shared one of the most powerful messages I have ever heard. He really has a gift for reaching people right where they are through his words. I really hope that I can continue in friendship with him.
