5o5, our youth group, is one thing that really excites me in ministry these days.  I have written before about the group.  This month we have been meeting weekly and still continuing to grow.  Last week, we had 40 students plus 6 leaders!  We spent the time in worship and God’s Word. Every year, our church, on New Years, has the tradition where everyone picks a verse from a pile of verses and that is your verse for the new year.  We picked a verse for 5o5 about how we use our tongues.  We were able to talk about this and even spend time encouraging one another.  One of my favorite moments was seeing my small group guys leading.  Every week I give them roles in the youth group and call them Jr. Leaders.  This is very important for them and they do a great job.  I have told them that as they do well, they will gain more responsibility.

After our group, we were invited over to the Rumbold’s house for a pizza party.  Everyone went.  We spent the time eating, laughing, and playing games together.  I believe even this helped continue to build bonds in our group to one another. Please pray for this group of young people and our continued growth toward our Lord!
