As you all know, I love this group of young people God has put in my life.  This month we continued to grow as a youth group.  Many new students are coming and slowly our Fusion students are seeing the value of being a part of a group where they grow.  We have worked really hard to make 5o5 not just a group that meets on Friday at 5:oo pm and does the same thing.  We are trying to model the ministry of Christ and make it life on life.  The students are catching the vision and even seeing, that they can bring Christ and community into their daily school lives and with their friends.  This month we have been teaching about worship and the role it plays in our relationship with God.  We had a professor from the seminary come and speak, not only about Creation vs. Evolution, but really what God intends for us to understand about the story of the world.  He is behind it and is in control, not chance.  We have had a small group time dividing out the kids by age and gender, to discuss specifically what a daily walk with Christ looks like.  Currently our youth group is 13-19 year olds.  It is a big difference in age range, but so far it seems valuable for them to be together. It is also good that we have specific group times focused at their particular stages of life.

One of the great things about our group is not only the intense times of growth I just wrote about. It is also the opportunity the kids have to invite their friends to events we are doing. The club room which is open daily for them to come hangout and talk with leaders. Some of the things we have done include: Night Skiing, Lunch together after church, Hanging on the Square, Kofola trips (Kofola is a Slovak Soda), and seeing a musical some of the youth made at school. It truly is life on life with these young sweet souls!
