This year’s spring conference was great, as usual. The theme of the conference was God as our good shepherd from Psalm 23. This was especially needed in my life right now. We learned about how the good shepherd desires to provide for us and allows us to rest in him. If you would like to listen to the talks, click on this link: Sheepology. You all know how much I love the JV Kids. This year I again had the opportunity to spend time with them and create some activities for them during the Conference. We had a great time together and made some good memories.

One of the main ideas of the talk which really impacted me, was the idea, He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies. So often we wish that God would take our enemies or bad things in our lives away from us. In this verse it is interesting that rather than taking the bad things or enemies away from us, that in essence God wants to throw a party for us, right in front of our enemies. What an interesting idea! God wants us to celebrate with Him even in the presence of our enemies. It challenged me to ask myself, if I delight in God even in hard times, right in front of my enemies.

During the conference I arranged for us leaders to take the older JV Kids to laser tag. We spent the evening together getting dinner, hanging out, and playing laser tag. We also had many opportunities through the conference to sit together and have many great talks. The older JV Kids, were also challenged during the week to help lead the young kids in their musical program, they jumped right in and helped and invested in the younger ones. What a blessing to have a family that invests!
