The Mighty men have done it again! We have pulled off another outreach event, this time, it was even bigger and better than normal! When I was in High School, I remember doing a event called the Barbarian feast, where we came as young men, did manly activities, cooked meat, made a fire, and had a manly talk from the Bible. When I mentioned this to my guys here, they were pumped and immediately said they wanted to do it. We planned it and invited many young men. I am very proud of these guys who stepped out of their comfort zone to reach out to their peers. 23 young guys came and participated in it and all said they would love to do it again!

One of the main things I wanted to see happen during this time, was that each of the guys would take responsibility for a different aspect of the day. I did not want it to be an event that I planned, but that we planned. Each of the guys divided out responsibilities, most of them taking activities and planned and prepared their area. We played many manly games; like war, push ups, rock throwing, capture the flag, Hututu, and many more. In the evening we sat around the fire, which one of the guys started. Each guy invited, was supposed to bring a chalice with them and create a story of how they found it, either real or made up, but it had to be entertaining. We had some real interesting stories! When we finished I shared a talk about courage and Ehud from the Bible. The guys seemed very interested and challenged by it. At the end of the talk I shared the gospel and challenged anyone interested in knowing more, to talk to the guy who invited them. I heard that there were some good conversations afterward. Although it was not as many guys as we had hoped, we believe it was a good start and was needed to build onto excitement for future events.
