This week we spent the week in Vienna with the Camp Directors from other countries in Josiah Venture. We met in Vienna because of Covid restrictions. We reflected on the summer and evaluated it across all of JV. We also began to plan the next two years of Camps and Themes. It was a blessed time in person with some of our colleagues and friends we had not seen in a while. After the meeting, we had planned to go a little further into Austria for a much-needed trip together during this busy time and before the baby arrives. Both of us felt the need to get away to rejuvenate and get rest. On the way to the meeting in Vienna, our car began to jump and lurch when in low gears. It came to the point where it started to be dangerous while driving in traffic in Vienna. We even decided it was no longer a good idea to travel for the weekend, which was hard as we were looking forward to this.
In Vienna, we took the car to a Ford service. We found out that our second differential was going out along with the gearbox, which would be very expensive. Last year we repaired the rear differential and then repaired many other things this last summer. This is the car we just bought when we moved back in 2020. We had hoped it would be a good reliable car for the next couple of years. We were excited to have a vehicle big enough to have the baby and all his stuff, along with a student or two.
As we thought about what to do, we decided selling the car would be the best option. It has been a real lemon, and we believe it is not worth so much worry and money being poured into it. The Friday after the meetings, we tried to sell the car back to the dealer we bought it from; they would give us very little money because it is broken. We are trying now to fix it and sell it. We would love to get a reliable car to drive. Josh will be in the States doing recruitment for the next couple of weeks. Alica will need a reliable vehicle to drive to her doctor’s appointments and other places. Thankfully God has provided a car to use for the next couple of weeks.
Would you be in prayer with us as we try to figure out this situation further? If anyone would feel led to help us by donating some money towards a new car, we would greatly appreciate it!!

Josh and Alica,
So glad to keep up with your ministry through Blackhawk’s Daily Mission Prayer Emails.
I appreciate how the Lord is directing your paths.
I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
Your past neighbor,
Jim Williams
