We got covid at Kid’s Camp.

0

This year we had Beny with us as we were at JV Kid’s Camp. It was a lot of fun to have him there, and everyone enjoyed playing with him and helping, but it was definitely a challenge to care for five 10-year-olds in our group and little Beny. Halfway through the week, we finally began to find our pace and rhythm for doing both. Our JVkids this year were a lot of fun, but are also getting to the stage where they have opinions, but also are little, so they get distracted easily. We had to get creative on how to keep them focused in a group. It was still a lot of fun to hang out and be goofy.

In the middle of the week, one of Josh’s boys got sick and began coughing. We tested him for covid, and he was negative, so we decided to have him rest. The next day Josh woke up with a sore throat that, by the evening, turned to fever and chills. He tested positive the following day. We retested the boy in his group and several others close to us and found a couple of people who were getting sick. Josh was quarantined to our room, which was difficult for Alica as she was taking care of Beny, Josh, and our kids, besides the one who was also in quarantine. Beny came down with a fever the last night and tested positive the day we left camp. Two days later, Alica tested positive. We spent the next week sick as a family and quarantined at home for a vacation. We are thankful we did not book a hotel or anywhere to go for a vacation as we would have needed to cancel. It was a hard week, but God was working in our hearts and lives.
