Preparation for summer

0

This May has been a whirlwind with fun moments and sad moments. Here is a quick recap of what has been going on in our ministry and our personal lives.

May started with JV Spring Conference, seeing many friends being encouraged by the Word of God. JV Spring is a great time of fellowship with other JV missionaries and, many times, people that are closest to our hearts. It is always an incredible blessing to spend the week together.

The next week we served at EXIT tour in our city and led a pre-camp training for our Slovak camp teams. The Slovak teams are working hard to get ready for their camps, and it is a privilege to walk alongside them as they do so.

In week three, we had our staff meeting, where our colleagues got to say goodbye to us. This was very hard, especially for Josh, who has worked and been friends with the Kompas staff for over 12 years! We count it a blessing to have such close relationships with our colleagues that make the goodbyes very difficult.

In week four, we had Josh’s siblings visit one last time before we move, and we traveled around together. This was a blessed time to spend with family and show them around beautiful Europe. Beny got to hang out with his cousin Zeke, and it was precious to watch them interact with each other and giggle at each other’s jokes.

On a more sad note, during these weeks, Alica’s American Great Grandmother ReeRee, passed away. This was expected for some time but was still very hard. We also found out that the people interested in buying our apartment bought a different one, and the van buyer is no longer able to purchase the van. These have been hard news one after another, but we know that our God is good and His timing is perfect. God’s sovereignty in all these things brings a lot of peace to our hearts.
Here are some areas we would love your prayers

  1. Please pray for the 10 Camps we will have next month so that many students would hear and receive the gospel!
  2.  Please pray for our church and youth group as they think and plan what next year will look like in Ministry.
  3. Pray for Josh’s small group guys as they go off to college in a couple of months.
  4. Pray for our apartment to sell soon, It has been for sale since February, and we have had two people back out already! We are getting a little nervous about it.

We are excited about the opportunity to study in the States! Josh is getting very excited about taking on the role of mobilizing teams and workers to the harvest in all 16 of our JV Countries! It is very needed!  As we come to the time when we move, we are still short around $550/ month.  This is mostly because of the difference in health insurance in the U.S. compared to the costs in Slovakia. Please pray for us in this!  We need to raise it by the end of July.
